Coming back to choir after the summer feels a bit like going back to school…in a good way. It feels fresh and purposeful. It’s great to see everyone again, nice to see a new face, and there’s the excitement about what the repertoire will include this term.
We’re a real community choir in Raunds. We may have members from Ringstead, Stanwick and as far afield as Higham and Rushden but we’ve drawn together from our wider geographical areas to form a community of like-minded souls who love to sing.
We are from a wide variety of backgrounds; newcomers are welcomed; we all work together for a common cause; we all rely on each other and we all take pleasure in our collective achievements. The community we’ve created is a pretty nice one actually, and it would be nice if more communities were like ours. I’m glad to be back.
